These readings show that we have heard Don Samuel as a man who lived fully the Gospel. The text of Jeremiah, so splendid, reveals his own life. The God's providence would have it for fifty-one years, two priests of the Diocese of San Cristobal de las Casas choose for him, the slogan he used in his episcopal coat, which was precisely "To Build and Plant" which is taken from this text the prophet Jeremiah.
Don Samuel was the prophet Jeremiah, a man who lived and experienced the contradiction. A person whose actions were discussed and condemned by a section of society, but for the poor and for whom we have worked with him, for them, Mr. Samuel was a bright light on who fully complied what God told the prophet: "From today I give you authority over the nations and over kingdoms, to root out and destroy, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant "(Jer.1, 10).
Don Samuel reached Chiapas full of injustices and abuses against indigenous people and the poor. whole situation of injustice, abuse, inhuman treatment to the Maya Indians, is not only his word of truth, justice and love in his proclamation of the dignity that are the sons and daughters denounced God, but especially with the construction of a church in which he means that a whole series of injustices and abuse disappear through the instances that were slowly building, where by means of evangelization who had been slaves, who were subjected voiceless, knew the dignity that God gave them at birth. Thus Samuel helped those who were oppressed and humiliated, becoming as announced by the prophet Isaiah, in oaks of righteousness, repairers and refurbishers of devastated cities (cf. Isa 61.3-4).
We are all witnesses who cooperate with him in Chiapas and who knew his work from other spaces, what it meant to him this work for the liberation of the Mayan peoples who live in Chiapas. He is an example of the hungry and thirsty for justice, with all its forces worked to root out injustice and replace it with justice. With all his strength remained above all their struggle for respect for human rights and dignity of all. There was no suffering that does not touch your heart. Provided to those who slandered him, tried to stop by the most despicable in this work for the good of the human community, Don Samuel always acted with mercy to them, waiting patiently for one day understand what the disastrous end of their lives if they remained attached to evil, and his selfish ambitions.
Don Samuel had eyes to see the image of God in every one of his brothers and sisters because his heart was clean. And in all truth we see that by the end of his life was preserved as a true son of God for his peace work, born of justice and love.
Blessed are you, jTatic Samuel, pursued for the sake of righteousness, for yours is now full, the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you, jTatic Samuel, you were subject to libel and slander, of innumerable persecutions, reproaches, insults for the sake Jesus, who is the fullness of life of the poor, the fullness of life for all human beings on this earth. Rejoice now and jump for joy to God for this he suffered for being faithful prophet Jesus. Blessed are you, jTatic Samuel, now enjoy the reward of the righteous.
